Islabikes was born in 2006, when a former professional cyclist and a triple British cyclocross champion Isla Rowntree got to work to change the future of children’s bikes. From humble beginnings – a tiny workspace in a converted barn, homemade desk, and single work stand for bike assembly – the expectations and enjoyment of junior riders everywhere were set to improve.

As the awareness and demand for the bikes has grown, so too has Islabikes. They’re now a thriving 34-strong company in the picturesque Bromfield in South Shropshire, UK. 2013 saw expansion into the US and in 2015 they began distribution to Europe.

From a balance bike and pedalling for the first time, to traffic-beating school runs, junior competitions and countryside exploration, Islabikes’ mission is to give children a better cycling experience – and seeing the excited faces of children when they ride an Islabike is what it’s all about.
