The position will be varied, busy and challenging. You will manage all of the computer hardware, software and network infrastructure for our central Bath offices. You will work across both SHIFT Active Media and the Play Sports Network to ensure that colleagues are able to be as efficient and have as trouble free a working day as possible.
Some of the key tasks will be:
- General technical support for the office
- Ensuring backups are made and verified both of personal computers and servers
- Efficient setup and management of new starters
- Decommissioning old equipment
- Checking and updating our firewalls
- Monitoring and managing network traffic
- Remote support of users wherever they may be around the world
- Supporting our development team in maintaining and looking after Linux cloud servers
You will be up for the challenge of researching and recommending new tools for the business to use and then taking ownership of the implementation and reporting of them.
You’re happy working in an environment that is mostly Mac, though with some PCs and looking after laptops that travel many thousands of miles per year on location. You’ll be experienced in disaster recovery and backing up of data, working with Google’s G-Suite and in ensuring that assets are registered and looked after. We’re a growing company, so an interest in other areas of the business such as some knowledge of server admin would be useful and we would positively encourage you to look into increasing efficiency by working with the development team.
