I had never really known what I wanted to do with my life, I went to college because I thought I should, and I didn’t ever think I was the type of person to go to university. That was until I started to come to terms with my sexuality. I signed on to a Film Studies course; I had loved post production during my time at college so it felt like a natural next step. The university I chose was 200 miles from home so it also doubled up as a place for me to start afresh and be myself.
I completely fell in love with the idea of editing films, and I was good at it. I had a lot of passion and started my career as a runner in a small post house in London. I soon grew out of the company and moved into a new one where I spent nine years moving up through the ranks. My career goals changed as they sometimes do, coupled with moving to a brand new city, I set my sights on other passions.
After a year of working in Bristol I discovered Play Sports Group, a place where I could learn some new skills in PPC but also be around other passionate cyclists. Cycling was a relatively new passion of mine when I started at SHIFT Active Media and I was brand new to PPC. Bath as a place certainly isn’t very diverse, it's definitely not known for its LGBTQ+ scene, but I have always felt welcome at SHIFT.
