Studying Physiological Science at the University of Bristol, my long term goal was to complete my degree and train to become a clinical neurophysiologist. After arriving in Bristol with little cycling experience, I decided to join the introductory ride for the university cycling club with the aim of meeting people and trying something new. Cycling soon became a big part of my life and six months later I’d bought myself a brand new bike and entered a number of local races where I quickly discovered a passion for cycling competitively.
I completed my studies at the University of Bristol, coming away with a mountain of knowledge and skills, but also my love of cycling, so I focused my job hunt on a role where I could surround myself with like-minded people and develop my professional skills. I was lucky to land an internship in the international marketing team at Strava, where I learned the ins and outs of marketing, discovering my strengths, and developing my skills.
In 2018 I began working at SHIFT within the Social Media team, the perfect place for me to combine my passion for all things cycling with my marketing knowledge and insight. During my time at the company I have felt lucky to be supported in achieving my cycling goals alongside my professional career... I am able to work full time whilst racing at a national level, riding for the ŠKODA DSI Cycling Academy, mentored by Dame Sarah Storey.
