  • Account Director (Media Buying Background)

    Are you an experienced Account Director with knowledge of and a love for cycling? If so, SHIFT Active Media may have the perfect role for you.

    We are recruiting for an Account Director to join our client services team, to help build and develop our client relationships. The team supports our existing client base, as well as pitching for and winning new business. Great communication, organisation, and project management are key skills required to be a part of the team. Knowledge of the cycling industry and a general understanding of brand and performance marketing are also essential.

    As an Account Director, you will help to grow the business by improving client relationships and incremental business in the cycling industry. The aim is to produce great work for our clients, and to add value to their businesses through marketing and cycling expertise.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Work with management and strategy to create briefs.
    • Work with Project Management to agree the most effective and efficient way to deliver projects.
    • Be a client’s key contact for marketing knowledge, particularly in digital marketing.
    • Understand the Client’s business and category. You will be responsible for understanding the client’s business, their goals, challenges, opportunities, and their business performance.
    • Know the cycling market and products inside out.
    • Build client relationships, as well as creating new client relationships and leads.
    • Use account plans to track future work.
    • Ensure that target revenues on each account are met or exceeded.
    • Improve client satisfaction, helping to expand existing revenue streams.

    Skills and Experience

    • Leadership - you will demonstrate leadership within the client services team.
    • Strategic and Commercial Thinking - you will develop new commercial ideas and use strategic thinking to advise clients on their business and marketing strategies.
    • Marketing Judgement - you will create and present marketing ideas to clients.
    • Influencing - communicate with professionalism and credibility, internally and externally.
    • Decision Making - using knowledge of the market to make credible decisions, and collaborating with the wider SHIFT team when required.
    • Delivery - providing timely delivery of services to clients, and keeping to deadlines set by them.

    Knowledge:

    • Knowledge of or interest in cycling and the cycling media market is essential.
    • Digital marketing expertise and understanding.
    • Commercial understanding of how an agency operates, but also how our clients business models and strategies work.
    • Financial Understanding and able to recognise when to escalate commercial issues.

  • Account Manager (Media Buying Background)

    Do you have a passion for cycling, with Account Management or Agency experience? If so, SHIFT Active Media could have the perfect opportunity for you within our Account Management team.

    As Account Manager at SHIFT, you will develop brand and communications strategies, as well as designing innovative solutions and campaigns to support our varied client base. You’ll be responsible for delivering creative ideas to help clients grow their business that are effective and within budget.

    The Role:

    • Support Business Directors and the senior management team in establishing and growing our client relationships.
    • Develop new strategies and plans targeted at cycling consumers.
    • Research and keep up to date with emerging trends and strategies within the cycling market.
    • Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, including being their main point of contact at SHIFT Active Media.
    • Research and learn about our client’s businesses, and understand their short-term and long-term aims.
    • Communicate client briefs effectively with the rest of the SHIFT creative team.
    • Develop positive working relationships with internal stakeholders.
    • When appropriate, review and question client briefs, providing advice on how to build on them.
    • Acquire a thorough understanding of each client’s business and their strategy.

    Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:

    • Experience working in marketing and/or account management, ideally within an agency environment.
    • Client relationship management skills.
    • Experience of developing strategies and presenting strategic plans to stakeholders.
    • Experience working in an environment with deadlines and a varied client base.
    • Presentation skills.
    • Knowledge of the cycling market would be hugely beneficial. If not cycling, then another outdoor sport or sports in general.

  • Paid Media Manager

    If you are a Paid Media Specialist looking for a role working in the sports industry, SHIFT Active Media would love to hear from you. As a Media Manager at SHIFT, you'll be responsible for the set up and reporting of paid media.

    You’ll have experience with paid media, ideally in an agency environment, and have used a range of channels. Working in a small Media Management team, you’ll work together to help businesses improve their paid media strategies and grow their business.

    The Role:

    • Run paid search, display and video campaigns across Google, Bing, Apple & Yahoo
    • Create and present reports on campaign performance, including using testing roadmaps
    • Identify new, innovative ways to improve campaign results
    • Help to onboard new clients and develop lasting relationships with them
    • Work within campaign budgets
    • Forecast channel performance using sources such as Keyword Planner
    • Use Tag Manager to build and implement tagging

    Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

    • 3+ years of experience in paid search, display and video media campaigns
    • Experience using Google Tag Manager and Google Google Merchant Centre
    • Experienced with Google Analytics and Search Console to identify performance trends
    • Skilled using Google Data Studio and formulae for reporting
    • Understanding of bidding strategies, campaign types, audience settings and format effectiveness
    • Knowledge of paid social campaigns is desirable

  • Social Media Director

    We're fortunate enough to be experiencing growth at SHIFT Active Media, so we are looking for a super talented Social Media Director with expert social-first storytelling craft skills, a background in content creation, and community management to join our talented team. Ideally, you'd have a passion for cycling too and be excited to work on our world-class cycling brands.

    You will lead the social content and community management team at SHIFT Active Media, helping some of the biggest, most storied and exciting brands in cycling to develop an always-on publishing mindset, and help them to build and connect with their audiences.

    You will collaborate closely with the PR, Media, Creative and Strategy teams at SHIFT to define social visions for our clients, and then guide the planning and crafting of social content that reaches and connects with riders.

    Key Accountabilities

    • Define social strategies and plans. Collaborating closely with the strategy team, you will help to define social strategies and plans that deliver against client marketing objectives, whilst adding value to riders lives. Providing direction and clarity for the wider client-agency team
    • Deliver social-first and always-on content ideas. You will be client facing, working with the Account Management function, to ensure we’re providing best in class insight and understanding across our clients
    • Brief, commission and guide content development: Be able to work with both internal and external partners - including influencers - to turn ideas into content across a range of formats
    • Community management help the social media managers in delivering excellent ongoing community engagement and support
    • Social thought-leader help to keep the wider agency and our clients up to date on the latest trends and technical changes to the key social media platforms
    • Social reporting. Ensure all social accounts have accurate and insightful reporting activity
    • Manage the social content and community team. Provide support, direction and coaching to the social media team to maximise their productivity, development and job satisfaction
    • Ways of working. Working with the CEO and Heads of department, establish ways of working that maximise collaboration, particularly with PR and Creative on an ongoing basis

    Essential Skills and Competencies

    • Strategic thinker: Able to define social strategies and guide the planning of content plans
    • Confident with data: Confident defining objectives and interpreting social data to guide decision making
    • Creative leadership: You understand how to develop new social-content ideas individually all with wider groups, and how to commission or brief others to deliver new ideas and executions. Whether that’s internal teams, external creative teams or influencers
    • Social channel knowledge: An in depth understanding of how all the major social channels work, and a deep practitioners experience for how to leverage their features and functionality to maximise audience reach, community engagement and growth
    • Media knowledge: You understand the roles that paid media and PR play in maximising brand visibility
    • Manager: You are able to coach and support a small team to maximise their productivity and job satisfaction, whilst improving their skills over time
    • Organised & Accountable: You will be adept at managing multiple simultaneous projects, dealing with a range of stakeholders and working to tight deadlines and / or budgets
    • Cycling knowledge & expertise: You will have a solid understanding of the cycling landscape, of cycling culture across disciplines and an interest in / appreciation of the sport

  • Social Media Executive

    We are recruiting for a Social Media Marketing Executive to bring passion for all things bikes and social to our ever growing team here at SHIFT Active Media.

    As Social Media Marketing Executive, you’ll have the chance to help SHIFT’s clients' connect with their fans and audiences through social media every day. You’ll have a good balance of creative and analytical thinking, able to juggle copywriting and concepting with reporting. All underpinned by an ability to stay organised and work with a brilliant multi-disciplinary team.

    Role Purpose and Responsibilities

    To run our clients’ social media channels to the highest of standards, taking responsibility for ensuring that all social content delivered is accurate, fits within an agreed plan or strategy, and follows social media best practices.

    The role will require you to:

    • Build on a good knowledge of using social media in a business context.
    • Keep up with cycling industry news, key race results and team changes – especially road cycling.
    • Write, plan and schedule weekly social media calendars for each client.
    • Ensure all content is delivered with the right tone of voice, high levels of accuracy and is in line with the pre-agreed strategy for each client.
    • Produce social media reports for existing clients, interpreting results in order to make recommendations for future activity.
    • Monitor and moderate audience activity across platforms, responding where appropriate and escalating where necessary.
    • Light-touch image editing to ensure quality standards are upheld and that content is correctly tailored for each brand.
    • Work with the Media team to identify social media posts to boost in order to generate the best results.
    • Develop a strong day-to-day relationship with key internal stakeholders.
    • Keep up to date with social media news, platform changes and content best practices, sharing useful information with the wider team.
    • Support the Social Strategist with other social media related activities when required.

    Essential Skills and Competencies

    • Cycling: You don’t need to ride like a pro, but you must be passionate about the sport and enjoy keeping up with all the latest news from cycling events – you’ll want to develop your career in the cycling industry.
    • Social know-how: You are passionate about and embrace the opportunities presented by social media. You will have a good grasp of how the channels work and what’s possible.
    • Community management: You’re able to assess comments and direct messages for authenticity and risk in a timely manner, escalating any issues to the wider team or client with a recommended approach that protects brand reputation.
    • Creativity: You enjoy coming up with creative ideas to help solve client problems, as well as providing feedback on the ideas of others.
    • Written and presentation skills: You’re able to produce accurate and well-crafted social media calendars and documents, and present these confidently and in an engaging way. You can communicate complex things in a simple, understandable way.
    • Good numerical capability: You’re not fazed by figures or data relating to social media. You’re able to work in spreadsheets and can present complex numbers in a simple way.
    • Interpersonal skills: As someone who will work closely with internal teams and clients, you must be confident developing good relationships with a wide range of people.
    • Reliable: With lots going on, you’re organised and able to manage your own time; you take responsibility for getting things done and can be relied upon to do things within given timescales.

    Preferred Experience

    • Experience of working in a social media role within an agency or a client-side marketing role.
    • Experience using social media management tools, such as SproutSocial or Hootsuite, etc.
    • Experience of creating or inputting into reports.
    • Experience of working to an agreed publishing plan across a number of social media platforms.
    • Experience of growing active social media communities.
    • Cycling industry experience is not essential, but an interest or passion for cycling is essential for this role.

  • Research Executive

    Are you a keen cyclist with an interest in market research? If so, SHIFT Active Media would love to hear from you, as we are recruiting for a Research Executive to join our growing team.

    As Research Executive, you will support the Research Manager with developing and implementing research projects for clients. This will include keeping up to date with key trends in the cycling industry and the wider media market, as well as project managing research for SHIFT’s clients.

    You will be organised and a good communicator, but most importantly you will have a passion for cycling and understand the market that you will be researching.

    This role is suitable for a graduate or college leaver. The role is currently remote, but when it is safe to return to the office you will be required to be in Bath 3 days per week, on average.

    Key Accountabilities

    • Project administration. Assist with project coordination, incentive management and administrative tasks
    • Research. Support the Research manager with primary research projects
    • Analysis. From first party quantitative data, to secondary research reports, you will be analysing data from market and consumer research
    • Trend watching. Help to monitor trends and emerging behaviours across professional racing, cycling marketing and cycling culture as a whole
    • Information Gathering and Presenting. You will take information from different sources and summarise this for the team to present internally and to clients

    Essential Skills and Competencies

    • Knowledge of research methodologies. Either through academic or work experience, you have an understanding of types of research
    • Data Analysis. Comfortable with spreadsheets
    • Cycling knowledge. This role will suit someone who’s excited about the prospect of helping us to understand cyclists and the world of cycling
    • Presentation skills: You are able to write, structure and present reports in a clear and engaging way
