  • Account Manager

    Do you have a passion for cycling, with Account Management or Agency experience? If so, SHIFT Active Media could have the perfect opportunity for you within our Account Management team.

    As Account Manager at SHIFT, you will develop brand and communications strategies, as well as designing innovative solutions and campaigns to support our varied client base. You’ll be responsible for delivering creative ideas to help clients grow their business that are effective and within budget.

    The Role:

    • Support Business Directors and the senior management team in establishing and growing our client relationships.
    • Develop new strategies and plans targeted at cycling consumers.
    • Research and keep up to date with emerging trends and strategies within the cycling market.
    • Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, including being their main point of contact at SHIFT Active Media.
    • Research and learn about our client’s businesses, and understand their short-term and long-term aims.
    • Communicate client briefs effectively with the rest of the SHIFT creative team.
    • Develop positive working relationships with internal stakeholders.
    • When appropriate, review and question client briefs, providing advice on how to build on them.
    • Acquire a thorough understanding of each client’s business and their strategy.

    Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:

    • Experience working in marketing and/or account management, ideally within an agency environment.
    • Client relationship management skills.
    • Experience of developing strategies and presenting strategic plans to stakeholders.
    • Experience working in an environment with deadlines and a varied client base.
    • Presentation skills.
    • Knowledge of the cycling market would be hugely beneficial. If not cycling, then another outdoor sport or sports in general.

  • Senior Designer

    As part of our ever expanding agency we are looking for a super talented Senior Designer with a strong craft and digital background and a passion for cycling, to join our creative team here at SHIFT Active Media.

    As Senior Designer, you will be working across our whole client base and alongside the core members of our team ensure that the work we carry out for all of our clients is of the highest creative standard, delivered on time and within budget. You will work collaboratively with our social media, PR, media planning and buying, video and digital teams to produce standout creative solutions and uphold the expectation of creative excellence within the company. Due to the wide ranging work we produce, agency experience is essential.

    The role will be varied, highly creative, challenging and will focus on campaigns across print, digital, social, video, and direct to consumer channels, through to creating engaging content for brand websites, and design for print adverts for major cycling brands and beyond. You’ll be an integral spoke in our creative wheel.

    You will work on projects for some of the most prestigious brands in cycling, as part of the creative team, whilst supporting the Head of Design and working alongside our account management and digital teams and creative suppliers.

    Responsibilities

    As a Senior Designer you will work on a variety of graphic design and creative projects, the work will be varied and challenging and play to your creative strengths. It will include, but is not limited to:

    • Generating conceptual design ideas for campaigns and proposals
    • Designing creative for digital, motion, branding and print, across all areas of the business
    • Leading website strategy and design (UI, UX and GUI)
    • Managing the creation of print and digital advertising from concept through to delivery
    • Motion graphics to help bring to life our commercial video campaigns
    • Print, advertising and marketing communications
    • Design amendments, artwork, layout and image manipulation
    • Contributing to presentations, proposals and motion showreels
    • Source and/or create photography, illustrations, and graphics for individual projects
    • Develop and produce marketing collateral to support the company’s strategy and visual branding
    • Directing and getting the best from internal designers and external creative contributors
    • Championing and challenging our creative process and way of thinking
    • Other reasonable duties, as directed by the senior creative team

    Skills and Experience

    • You will be a creative thinker and a multi-tasker, have strong print, digital skills and expertly know your way aroundAdobe CC, in particular Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. Motion design skills, particularly After Effects and HTML5 would be a bonus but not essential.
    • You will have a flexible approach to work, excel under pressure and deliver solutions with exceptional attention to detail, on brand and on time.
    • You will have solid knowledge of digital development – enabling you to design ambitious but achievable websites and a passion for creating visual and graphic solutions for a range of media types. Again, motion graphic skills would be a bonus but not essential.
    • The ability to rapidly absorb and apply new technical information is a distinct advantage but not essential.
    • The successful candidate will have at least 3-5 years agency experience in a Middleweight or Senior role.
    • Of course you’ll be bursting with ideas, positive mindset and have excellent organisational skills being able to schedule and manage your workload to meet daily, weekly and monthly deadlines.

  • PR Manager

    Are you a PR Professional who also has knowledge of the cycling market and industry? If so, SHIFT Active Media may have the perfect role for you.

    We are looking for a PR Manager to join and work closely with our account management, social media, and creative teams to deliver a great PR service to our clients. A key part of the role will be to build a close working relationship with clients to understand their strategic goals and work with them to deliver their objectives.

    You will produce and deliver against an agreed PR plan and budget. By building outstanding relationships with key international journalists and media companies you will be able to deliver the best possible coverage and value to our clients. You will use tools within the business to monitor the performance of PR reach and review, report and make recommendations to our clients and ensure they receive excellent service.

    Post pandemic, this role will involve some travel to visit clients, so we’re looking for someone with the right to work in the UK, as well as the ability to travel globally when required.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Developing and delivering innovative PR strategies, maximising the opportunity for our clients
    • Day to day relationship management with clients
    • Project management
    • Creation of media briefings and press collateral
    • Deliver coverage across broadcast, digital, and print media internationally
    • Developing and maintaining relationships with key international journalists, influencers and media companies
    • Analysing and reporting on the success of media campaigns
    • Working with PR budgets and strategic objectives

    Skills, Knowledge and Experience

    • Experience managing a number of clients and dealing with challenging relationships
    • Knowledge of the cycling industry and market
    • Skilled at managing a number of ongoing projects, and allocating your time efficiently
    • Ideally, you’ll have worked for an agency PR team
    • Good communication skills - you’ll be working on client presentations as well as internal communications

  • Strategy & Research Intern

    If you’re looking for a new challenge, and want to work on some of the biggest brands in cycling and develop your strategy and research career within a fast growing agency, then this is for you!

    Role Purpose

    As the SHIFT Strategy & Research Intern, you will be responsible for providing support to the Strategy and Research team. You will assist with all business needs related to Research and Strategy for SHIFT’s clients and prospects. You will work with the Head of Strategy & Research to gather, analyse and interpret a variety of information in the form of desk research. You will set up and manage research projects in collaboration with the Research Manager, supporting respondent recruitment, scheduling and payments, and generally assisting with workflow where necessary to keep the team running smoothly and effectively. In return, you’ll gain invaluable experience in the field of agency research and strategy, as well as getting to assist on some interesting and exciting projects.

    The successful applicant will ideally have an interest and passion for cycling, as well as a significant interest or experience in marketing and/or strategy and research. They should be prepared to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to think quickly and intuitively while working autonomously, due to remote working. The team will, of course, be on hand to support however.

    Key Accountabilities

    Working closely with SHIFT’s Head of Strategy & Research the intern will be required to:

    • Examining clients’ businesses to get to know their brands and understand their objectives.
    • Analyse and interpret a variety of information.
    • Research and gather data to develop well-informed briefs and thus strategic plans for clients.
    • Assist with research project coordination & administrative tasks.
    • Keep well informed of industry developments and competitor activities, as well as keeping up-to-date with cultural/social trends and customers’ views and attitudes.

    Job Requirements

    • Prior experience in a marketing department, agency or research organisation - highly desirable.
    • Academic experience in marketing, research or a related discipline - desirable.
    • Excellent computer knowledge with spreadsheets (proficiency in G-Suite a bonus).
    • Writing and proofing skills.
    • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and administrative skills.
    • Ability to work independently and complete assigned tasks within identified time frames.
    • Organised, dependable and detail oriented.
    • Team player with a cooperative spirit.

  • Media Planner

    If you have experience with Media Planning and Buying and are a cycling fanatic, then SHIFT Active Media has the perfect opportunity for you to combine the two.

    SHIFT Active Media's Media Planning and Buying department are responsible for the planning, purchase, performance monitoring, and optimisation of advertising campaigns on behalf of the agency’s clients.

    As Media Planner, you will be responsible for the planning and delivery of media buying across digital and traditional media channels for SHIFT’s clients. This role is critical to setting the media strategy for key clients, whilst overseeing the delivery of media buying in aid of meeting client expectations.

    Role and Responsibilities

    • The core work is focused around developing integrated media strategies for key campaigns and product launches, along with the development of cohesive media plans based on the client brief that includes communications goals and brings together different disciplines for integration across multiple media channels.
    • Ensure that we are delivering the highest quality of work for key clients by keeping up to date with trends in media, presenting creative strategies which aim to meet our client’s business objectives.
    • Media Planners are responsible for media planning across both digital and traditional media channels, including building a stronger partnership with media owners in broadcast and cycling media.
    • Media Planners will support the media planning process for clients, ensuring all client expectations are met aligned with the media/creative brief and brand strategy.
    • Responsible for delivering media income targets and understands how to do that profitably - managing resources accordingly.
    • Applies an effectiveness mindset, able to develop measurement strategies to inform planning and identify opportunities
    • Motivates and inspires agency-wide collaboration and process by leading and motivating a project team.
    • Builds senior client relationships, develops a deep understanding of their business and ensures that the agency is focused on delivery against their goals and objectives.

    Skills and Experience

    • Skilled in negotiating the price of media on behalf of clients
    • Able to work with agility to meet client demands and adjust to evolving requirements.
    • Able to work to deadlines to ensure campaigns are delivered on time.
    • A strong and confident communicator
    • Strategic and composed, able to make clear decisions in the best interest of the client and the agency.
    • Has an interest in cycling or similar endurance sports.
